The Family AM Gyro BMX brake set is a complete solution for riders who don’t want to compromise on braking performance during BMX riding. Designed for frames with 1-1/8” headsets, this system is compatible with most modern BMX bikes. The gyro rotor features a bearing-supported construction, ensuring smooth and hassle-free handlebar rotation even under heavy use. This is especially important for tricks that involve full bar spins, as the cables remain untangled during rotation.
The upper and lower cabling is designed so that both brake levers connect into a single upper cable, which fits precisely into the upper part of the gyro. Similarly, the lower part also uses a “two-into-one” cable system that connects to the rotor, providing a crisp and tight brake feel. The set includes all necessary cables: the bottom outer cable is 780 mm in length, while the shorter side of the top cable is 320 mm, which generally fits well with most BMX geometries.
Removable gyro tabs are not included in the package by default, but can be purchased separately. This allows the system to be adapted to frames with integrated headsets that do not come with built-in gyro tab mounts.
